Care & Safety

A clean place, a gentle method and the equipment maker’s instructions are the starting point.

Inspect before use

Look over straps, attachment tails, sliders, closures and storage interiors before putting equipment into service. Support the camera while fitting or adjusting a strap and test the connection over a padded surface. Stop using an item that appears loose, frayed, cracked or otherwise damaged. Photography carrying accessories are not personal safety equipment, climbing equipment or a substitute for a secure working arrangement.

Keep optical care deliberate

Check the camera or lens maker’s instructions for coated surfaces and internal components. Inspect a blower, brush or cloth for contamination before bringing it near equipment. Remove loose dust using an approved method before considering a wipe, use light pressure and stop when a mark needs more than a gentle approach. Do not introduce a nozzle into a mechanism or assume an accessory is suitable for sensor cleaning. Seek qualified servicing advice when appropriate.

Choose a clean working surface

Open a pouch, filter wallet or card case on a stable, dry surface where small items cannot roll away. Keep keys, grit and exposed connectors separate from delicate surfaces. Handle recording media carefully and avoid unnecessary contact with exposed electrical contacts. A card case organizes media but does not replace a separate backup of your photographs. Check that the card or filter format fits before placing it into a sleeve or slot.

Pack without pressure

Allow room around lens caps, camera controls and cable ends. Do not force a zipper, drawstring or sleeve around an oversized item. Place soft organizers inside a suitable supported outer bag, and avoid heavy objects pressing on the equipment. Soft storage does not establish waterproofing, impact protection or a tested load capacity. Consider weather and transport conditions independently and use appropriate protection for the actual environment.

Dry and store

Remove equipment from a damp pouch or wrap and let the surfaces dry before long-term storage. Follow any supplied care label rather than assuming a washing temperature or chemical treatment is suitable. Keep dedicated cleaning cloths away from general household cleaning and inspect them before reuse. Store accessories where heat, liquid and loose grit are unlikely to contaminate them. Keep small accessories away from children when they could create a hazard, and contact us if you have a question about the item offered.
